Profile

I graduated in Literary Subjects with 110/110 cum laude at the University of Padua, where I work in the field of Italian Studies and where as an adjunct professor I was entrusted with the course unit of Comparative Literature. I was a member of the board of directors of the PhD School in Philological, Linguistic and Literary Sciences of DiSLL and I am part of the School's Teaching Board. In the field of Italian Studies I have worked on twentieth-century poetry and Renaissance and Baroque literary communication, with investigations on the lyrical, epic, epistolary, treatise, biographical genres, on the eclogue in loose, on Aristotelian and Horatian poetics, on the rewritings of ancient classics. I have also worked on the European reception of modern Italian classics in the nineteenth century, and on themes and forms of the sacred from Dante to the twentieth century. I edited the reprint of the Secular Letters (1550) by G. Muzio, the Six First Books of Vergil's Aeneid translated to more illustrious and honored women (1540) and the Aeneid in Tuscan by A. Cerretani (1560); edited and commented on the Life of Galileo, edited by V. Viviani (1622-1703), and the Angeleida (1590) by Erasmo di Valvasone (1528-1593). Various works on the same topics are printed in volumes published by me, in miscellanies of Italian studies, in Italian and European Conference Proceedings and in foreign journals. I have participated in PRIN coordinated and directed by G. Baldassarri and in research projects of the UFR d'Etudes Italiennes et Romaines of the Université de Paris 3 Sorbonne nouvelle. In the comparative field I have published a volume on the Italian reception of the ancients and on the European fortune of the moderns, judged "excellent" by the evaluators of the CIVR (Rewriting the Ancients, rewriting the moderns and other studies of Italian and comparative literature between the Cinque and Ottocento), I have translated and published the poem by M. Marulić (1450-1524), the Judita (Venice 1521), for which the Croatian Writers' Society awarded me the Davidias prize, and fragments of Nemiri (Zagreb 1920), by the Bosnian writer and Nobel Prize for Serbo-Croatian literature, I. Andrić (1892-1975). I have overseen the organization of conferences and study days and contributed to activating didactic-scientific collaborations in the field of Italian Studies with the University of Zadar and Paris 3 Sorbonne nouvelle, where I also taught at the UFR d'Etudes Italiennes et Romaines. I am a member of the Association of Italian Italianists, of the Centre Interuniversitaire de Recherche sur la Renaissance Italienne of Paris 3 Sorbonne nouvelle and of the Književni krug Split (Split Literary Circle). I have given talks at meetings, conferences and study seminars in Italy and abroad. As part of the Interadria project, coordinated and directed by S. Collodo and G.L.Fontana (Department of History of the University of Padua), I, in collaboration with the Knjževni krug Split, conceived, coordinated and directed the Valmar project (Enhancement and recovery of the writings and places of Marcus Marulus). I have lectured at the PhD School in Italian Studies in Venice, I have been co-supervisor of PhD dissertations in Italian Studies in Padua, external member in PhD Commissions in Italian Studies at the Universities of Trieste and Verona, external member in competitions for researcher in Italian Studies at the Universities of Turin and Udine. I was on the editorial board of "Studi pasoliniani" and I am part of the Reading Committee of "Literature and dialects".
