Education: Graduated laude in Mechanical Engineering in 1989 at the
University of Padua, PhD in Mechanical Measurements for Engineering in 1994.
Current Position: Full Professor of Mechanical and Thermal Measurements at
the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Padua.
Academic career. From 1994 to 1998 assistant professor of "Mechanical and
Thermal Measurements” at the University of Padua. From November 1998 to
2008 Associate Professor and from 2008 to 2023 Full Professor at Politecnico
di Milano
Scientific activity. Analysis and reduction of measurement uncertainty due to
dynamic effects for the TEM temperature sensor, Cassini-Huygens mission. CoI
and responsible in phase A/B of the thermal and mechanical design of the
VIRTIS spectrometer and responsible of the thermal design of the Wide Angle
Camera, WAC-OSIRIS package for the the Rosetta mission. CoI and responsible
for the mechanical and thermal design and AIV of the optical module of the
FTIRS PFS for the MarsExpress and VenusExpress missions. Responsible for the
thermo-mechanical design of the FTIRS MIMA for the Pasteur rover of the
ExoMars mission. Responsible for the thermo-mechanical design of CAM, QCM for
Contamination Monitoring (ESA). Responsible in phase A/B of the
thermo-mechanical design of the MAJIS spectrometer for the JUICE mission. CoI
and PM of the MicroMED dust analyzer for the ExoMars 2020 mission.
Responsible for the thermomechanical development of RIIFS and fISPEX
spectrometers, ASI funded technological developments.
Scientific publications: He is the author of 178 SCOPUS publications, more
than half of which published in international refereed journals, H-INDEX 27
and over 3000 citations.
