Since 2022, the University of Padua has been part of the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA), a consortium of organizations committed to reforming the methods and processes of research assessment, including how researchers and research organisations are evaluated. By joining CoARA, the university has committed to promoting the 10 commitments of the Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment (ARRA) through a multi-year action plan and involvement in international Working Groups.

CoARA represents an important step towards fairer and more innovative research assessment, with potentially significant impacts on the future of academic research.
