Associations
The life of the University is interwoven with a range of social, cultural and sports associations and institutions, which express the willingness and ability of students, staff and citizens in some way connected to the University to meet and organise themselves. A list of other associations is available on the website of the Municipality of Padua.
The lists we provide are not exhaustive, and addresses and contact details may be subject to updates.
Born from the meeting of two historic Padua institutions – the Società Bartolomeo Cristofori, the concert society of the Istituto musicale C. Pollini founded in 1920, and the Students’ Arts Centre of the University of Padua, active since 1945 – the association continues to carry forward the city’s musical tradition through an annual concert season, initially hosted in the historic Hall of the Giants at Liviano and now in the Pollini Auditorium of the Conservatory of Music of Padua.

The Association was established to keep contacts alive among Alumni, students and lecturers, to bring together and preserve relationships, skills and experiences developed during university and Galilean studies. Recreational, Cultural and Sports Association - Arcs

The Centro d’Arte of the University of Padua has existed since 1945. It was founded as a student association supported by the University and was the very first of its kind in Italy.

The Centre is animated and supported by a small community of Jesuits and by the broader community of the network of their EUM Province, as well as by “non-Jesuits” who have been formed in Ignatian pedagogy and spirituality within the same apostolic horizon, bringing the fruits of the experience they have gained in the field of youth work, social engagement for refugees, training in the Spiritual Exercises, cultural presence in the university world, and spirituality groups connected to the world of families and the Christian Life Communities.

The Centre is a network of relationships forged for reasons that are sometimes very different and characterised by varying degrees of intensity: some people are looking for services, some for cultural opportunities, and some for moments of spirituality. There are those who pass through, find what they need, and continue on their way. Others, for a shorter or longer period, make this experience their own and enrich it with their sensitivity and their questions.
Its rooms have always been transformed during the day into study and social spaces that are completely open and frequented by many students who do not necessarily then take part in the religious and cultural initiatives on offer.

The project "Palestra di Botta e Risposta" was created within the first course in Italy on Argumentation Theory, launched at the University of Padua in 2001. Its aim is to promote training in debate and the organisation of regulated debating tournaments in schools, companies and social settings.
The methodology is based on the belief that, through regulated dialectical discussion, the Palestranti can develop fundamental skills for democratic citizenship and critical thinking.
The project aims to educate "aware and free, conscious and autonomous people" who know how to think for themselves, test and validate their own ideas, defend them and assess those of others.
The "Patavina Libertas" protocol is used, a structured format involving teams of 7 students who debate specific topics, following a process divided into 7 phases with set timings.
