superVisioni

superVisioni is the cultural series promoted by the Department of General Psycology of the University of Padua, in collaboration with Cinema Teatro Rex, with the aim of creating a dialogue between psychological research, cinema and performance.
Each screening leaves behind images, emotions and questions that often continue even after the performance has ended. The series was created precisely to make room for these questions and to transform the viewing experience into an opportunity for reflection on the ways in which we perceive ourselves, others and the reality around us.
The title superVisioni refers to the concept of supervision that is intrinsic to psychological practice, understood as a moment of exchange, learning and professional in-depth exploration. At the same time, it alludes to the scientific perspective of psychology, capable of going beyond the immediate appearance of phenomena and interpreting them in the light of research and scientific evidence.
At each event, the audience is guided by researchers from the Department of General Psycology, who start from the themes raised by the films and performances to explore issues related, among others, to relationships, pain, memory, stigma and the construction of identity.
superVisioni thus offers an encounter between art and scientific knowledge, inviting the audience to observe the landscapes of the mind and human experience with a broader and more aware perspective.
The series is part of the activities envisaged by the 2026-2028 Third Mission Strategic Plan of the Department of General Psycology.
