CVEinAI - Critical Virtual Exchange in Artificial Intelligence
The Projects and Mobility Office coordinates the project "CVEinAI - Critical Virtual Exchange in Artificial Intelligence", funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ Programme, Key Action 1 – Virtual Exchange.
The CVEinAI project is designed to promote critical literacy and ethical awareness in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) among university students across Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa. Through the creation of Critical Virtual Exchange (CVE) activities on this topic, the initiative aims to provide an interactive and interdisciplinary learning environment in which students from different disciplines can take part in meaningful discussions on AI-related issues.
In addition, the project aims to train university students and doctoral candidates to facilitate online dialogue in intercultural and multidisciplinary environments, providing them with the essential skills needed to guide conversations on AI ethics and the challenges it presents. In addition, teaching staff at the universities involved will be able to benefit from a training and professional development course on the design of Virtual Exchange pathways, with a critical focus on the integration of AI technologies into teaching.
Through a transcultural and transdisciplinary approach, CVEinAI encourages participants to analyse AI-related issues from global and local ("glocal") perspectives, fostering intercultural dialogue and promoting ethically sound decision-making in AI practices. Ultimately, the initiative aims to equip future professionals with the tools to address the complexities of AI with critical thinking, ethical awareness and a global outlook.

Training Course for Facilitators (November/December 2025):
The Training Course for Facilitators aims to develop specialised skills for facilitating virtual exchanges, preparing learners to support and guide participants in the different editions of the CVEinAI course.
Programme details:
Activities: Specialised training in facilitating virtual exchanges
When:
- Blended pathway: 4 weeks starting from 3 November, with 2–3 hours per week of asynchronous activities (readings, forum discussions, etc.) plus one 90-minute live session per week (total: 16–20 hours).
- Synchronous pathway: 4 live sessions, each lasting 4 hours, over 2 weeks starting from 1 December (total: 16 hours)
Who: Master's degree and PhD students
