Cantare l'Umano
Four concerts to tell, through music, the universal value of dignity, listening and coexistence. “Cantare l’Umano” is born, the new series that brings together classical repertoire, pop and rock music, theatre, visual arts and choral singing in a journey dedicated to human rights.
The first event, Fraternitas, is inspired by the figure of San Francesco, on the eighth centenary of his death, with music by Mendelssohn and Gounod and the participation of the actor Andrea Pennacchi, performer of the Cantico delle Creature.
The second concert, Communitas, places pop and rock songs from the second half of the twentieth century at the centre as an expression of fragility, collective responsibility and the common good.
In November, on the occasion of the World Day for Children's and Adolescents' Rights, the protagonists of the third event, Vox, are the voices of a choir of girls, boys and young people.
Dignitas. for the World Human Rights Day, with Mozart’s Sinfonia concertante K. 364 and Ola Gjeilo’s Dreamweaver, concludes the series in December.
The concert cycle arises from the collaboration between the University Centre for Human Rights “Antonio Papisca”, the UNESCO Chair Human Rights, Democracy and Peace and the Concentus Musicus Patavinus of the University of Padua.
