Specific-risk activities: operational safety instructions
At some sites of the University of Padua there are activities involving specific risk activities such as:
- use of flammable substances
- use of cryogenic gases
- work in confined spaces or environments suspected of contamination
- research activities involving animals
- research activities on biological agents
- use of hazardous chemical substances
- handling of blood
- use of carcinogenic agents
- use of laser equipment
- use of explosive substances
- presence of compressed gases in cylinders
- nanotechnology research activities
- use of machine tools
- presence of magnetic fields: electrical substation, transformer room
Operating instructions have therefore been prepared in order to provide the main safety measures to be adopted to safeguard workers’ health and safety. These instructions are constantly updated, in line with regulatory developments, but above all following reports provided by field operators with specific expertise in the various topics covered, for whom the Prevention and Protection Service is the direct point of contact.
