Is there any class/subject that has stood out to you?
I can say that I was deeply influenced by two courses I took. The first one is Antibiotic Therapy: Discovery, Development and Rationale Clinical Use, and the second is Laboratory Medicine Technologies and Molecular Diagnostics.
In the Antibiotic Therapy: Discovery, Development and Rationale Clinical Use course, I learned many aspects of antibiotics, from their development to the marketing process. Since my career goal is to become a Clinical Microbiologist, this course was extremely beneficial for understanding every stage of antibiotics.
The other course, Laboratory Medicine Technologies and Molecular Diagnostics, allowed me to explore the techniques used in my field from a broader perspective. This course significantly contributed to my understanding of each step of the experiments, providing invaluable insights.
What advice would you give when it comes to preparing a successful application?
When preparing your application, one of the most important points to focus on is crafting an impressive motivation letter. A motivation letter is a document where you explain why you are suitable for the programme or position you are applying for and why this opportunity is important to you. In this letter, it is crucial to summarize the work you have done and the achievements you have accomplished in a concise yet detailed manner. Additionally, you should clearly explain your skills related to the field and how you can add value to the position. At the same time, a well-prepared and professional CV is another critical element that will help you stand out among other candidates. Your CV should clearly and systematically highlight your educational background, work experience, volunteer activities, and other skills to ensure the effectiveness of your application. Therefore, dedicating sufficient time to both your motivation letter and your CV will significantly increase your chances of success.
What advice would you give to potential students thinking of studying in Italy?
First of all, I must say that you will be studying in one of the most beautiful cities in Italy. Besides that, I can confidently state that you will achieve the academic competences you aim for and even surpass them. However, to be honest, the extent of these competencies will largely depend on the effort you put in. While studying in this programme, you will have the opportunity to work with excellent professors in their fields, which is a significant privilege.
What do you do when you’re not studying?
During my free time, one of my favorite activities is walking along the long, tree-lined path in Portello to reach the park near Giardini dell’Arena, where I sit and enjoy a drink. Alternatively, I like going to Prato della Valle to explore the markets and then have a coffee. Another activity I truly enjoy is visiting nearby cities of Padova, such as Venice or Verona. I also love going to the theater, especially musicals. I am very grateful to Padova for providing us with these opportunities.
