ERC: Alessio Malfanti

Alessio Malfanti is an Assistant Professor (with Tenure) at the University of Padova. His multidisciplinary research aims to understand the biological rationale of diseases for designing polymeric nanomedicines suitable for transfer into clinical testing. His approach integrates biology, chemistry, medicine, and nanotechnology to drive tailored drug delivery systems into pathological sites. He built his expertise, by working across five international research groups in four countries (Italy, Spain, Israel, and Belgium) with renowned experts in bioconjugate chemistry and nanomedicine. His research interest has recently focused on designing polymeric nanomedicine for treating brain cancer (e.g., glioblastoma) and non-cancer related (e.g., Inflammatory Bowel Disease, spinal cord injury repair) diseases.
