Our partnerships

With over 531 partnerships, the University of Padua has established long-standing relationships with Higher Education Institutions all over the world, not only in Europe but also in Africa, North and South America, Asia and the Middle East and Oceania, aimed at encouraging international student & staff exchanges, joint programmes, innovative virtual teaching programmes, research collaboration, joint publications, etc. Our goal is to deliver academic excellence and advance the reputation and work of the University of Padua. A series of partnership options are available for consideration.

  Memorandum of Understanding

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is a framework agreement between two or more Institutions which defines the overall goals for mutual cooperation, roles and responsibilities of the Partners. The MoU is the first step towards more specific cooperation activities and projects.

  Student / Staff Exchange

A Student/Staff exchange agreement (Addendum) is a specific agreement that defines in details the terms and conditions of the MoU to which it is attached. It indicates main mobility targets (students, professors, researchers, PhD students or technical-administrative staff), the specific objectives and the duration of the stay abroad. It also describes the activities to undertake and defines the financial aspects.

The Addendum can be signed at either the University level by the Rector, being open to all university students/staff or the Department level by the Department Director(s). In the latter case, exchange possibilities are open only to students/staff of that specific Department.

  Articulation and Progression

Our articulation and progression agreements allow students to make a smooth transfer from Bachelor to Masters Degree courses at the University of Padua. Different levels of integration / credit recognition are possible.

  Double/Joint Degrees

Our double/joint degree agreements support the development and implementation of joint programmes, i.e. full academic programmes offered jointly by two or more higher education institutions, leading to the award of a (double/multiple or joint) degree (link https://www.unipd.it/programmi-congiunti  in EN)

  Innovation

The University of Padua is exploring innovative forms of collaboration with its international partners. This might include agreements supporting innovative teaching collaborations; virtual exchanges; entrepreneurial activities for students involving external stakeholders, local communities; joint staff training, etc.

  Strategic Partnerships

The University of Padua supports multidimensional partnerships at institutional level with selected institutions in Europe and worldwide.
