Guided tours to Palazzo Bo

Self-guided tours are not available at Palazzo Bo: access to the building is only possible by guided tour.

The guided tour of Palazzo Bo includes the anatomical theatre, the Galileo Galilei’s Aula Magna, the Sala dei Quaranta (The “Hall of the Forty”) and the Aula di Medicina (where lectures on medicine were originally given). From Monday to Saturday.

Tour guides speak Italian and English.

  • Palazzo Bo is closed on Sundays and public holidays. Guided tours will be suspended: 1st November, 8 December, 25 December-1st January. It is also not possible to visit Palazzo Bo on University closing dates.

  How to get to Palazzo Bo

The airport nearest to Padova is the Marco Polo International Airport (about 30 Km). Connections are provided by a bus service (Busitalia), running every half an hour to the Padova train Station, which is close to the city centre. From there you can reach Palazzo Bo on foot in aboout 15 minutes. There is a also a tram service - Sir 1 line - running every 10 minutes from the station to the vicinity of Palazzo Bo (Ponti romani tram stop).

Palazzo Bo lies in a limited traffic area (ZTL) where cars are not allowed without a special permission. The nearest parking lots can be found in Prato della Valle area (15 minutes, on foot).

Guided tours to the Hall of the Giants at Palazzo Liviano

Groups of 10 persons (or more) can arrange guided tours upon request at visiteguidate.bo@unipd.it.

The Hall is open the first Saturday of every month, with two guided tours, at 10.30 and 11.30.

Meeting point: Arco Vallaresso, entrance of the Sala dei Giganti (Hall of the Giants).

Guided tours of the Botanical Garden are available by booking, both for schools and for groups. The itinerary will lead the visitor to the discovery of the oldest University Botanical Garden of the world.
