Women, leadership and sustainability in critical times

21.05.2020

The University of Padova Center for Gender Studies Elena Cornaro invites to attend the next online glocal conversation on Women, leadership and sustainability in critical times, on June 5 (at 5 pm), with the participation of Jutta Gutberlet (Professor, Department of Geography at the University of Victoria, Canada) and Anita Gurumurthy (Executive Director, ITforChange, India). With contributions by Claudia Padovani (SPGI Department, University of Padova), Annalisa Oboe (Center for Gender Studies Elena Cornaro, University of Padova) and Sara Bin (Fontana Foundation), and short interventions by students from Padova highschools who participated in the project World Social Agenda 2019-20: "People. Inclusion and Society".

The goal of this meeting is to develop critical lines of reflection about issues of gender inequalities in/and the guidance of societies that today require new lenses, prospective vision and thinking out of the box: about the commitments that have not been made; about the risk of drawbacks from recent improvements regarding gender equality and inclusive societies; and about the role of scientific as well as practical knowledge in addressing major challenges, starting from an understanding of local-and-global dynamics in the covid19 emergency, and from individual and collective experiences.

The event will be streamed online on the YouTube channel of the Elena Cornaro Center for Gender Studies.

This event, held in English, is jointly organized by the Center for Gender Studies Elena Cornaro, the research group Next Generation Global Studies and master course in European and Global Studies at SPGI Department and Fontana Foundation – in collaboration with ACS/GIGS - in the context of Padua European Volunteering Capital 2020.
