Summer and Winter Schools - Engineering
Close Range Sensing Techniques in Alpine Terrain
Innovative practical and methodological skills to characterize mountainous terrain using close- and near range remote sensing techniques. Theoretical lectures will be complemented by fieldwork assignments and hands-on data processing sessions using different novel software. The assignments will be performed in groups of about 5 participants and focusing on mountain research and related sensor and data processing techniques.
A variety of sensor systems will be available for data acquisition in the high mountain surroundings of the summer school venue, including different terrestrial laser scanners, drones, low cost sensing systems and spectral cameras.

PhD Summer School of Information Engineering (SSIE)
SSIE is jointly organized by the IEEE Italy and the Department of Information Engineering (DEI) at the University of Padova. The PhD School will feature tens of scientific talks and lectures, social events, plenty of fine food, relaxation and hiking in the Alps! SSIE comes with two tracks: Track 1, focusing on modern machine learning and optimization (theory and algorithms) for future wireless networks; and Track 2, focusing on GaN-based devices and systems for energy efficiency and automotive.

Critical Raw Materials ofr Safe and Resilient Europe
The purpose of the summer school is to provide knowledge and skills, mainly to PhD students, who wish to direct their expertise towards the extraction, use, recovery, and recycling of materials in a more responsable and effective manner, and to stimulate interaction among international research groups. The course aims to provide tools that will be valuable in addressing the challenges related to Critical Raw Materials (CRMs), contribute to promoting their sustainable management, and support research activities at the international level.
