Our commitment to research on gender-based violence and discrimination
A commitment to combating every form of discrimination, harassment, and gender-based violence: this is the UNIRE project - Responsible University, a structured and unified action plan that includes training meetings, research and awareness-raising activities, and the opening of a listening center.
To support research activities in different fields of knowledge (economic, psycho-social, medical, and cultural), a fundraising campaign is underway to finance annual research grants, each amounting to 26,500 euros, to address the issue of discrimination and gender-based violence through a multidisciplinary approach.
By way of example, research may focus on the following areas:
> Financial education research - Why is it important for everyone to have financial education? What is gender-based economic violence? How does it manifest itself, how can it be prevented, and how can it be countered? Can proper financial education act as a preventive factor?
> Economic research - How can gender bias be managed in companies? What is the impact of gender inequalities on the economy, on different productive sectors, and on companies? Which rules and measures are relevant to support equal opportunities in the workplace?
> Psycho-social research - Which interventions related to emotional education, understanding and valuing diversity, inclusion, acceptance, and understanding of others are necessary to prevent gender-based violence? What personality traits, psychological disorders, and motivations drive such violent behavior? How do young people respond to gender-based violence?
> Medical-clinical research - Are there gender-based discriminations in healthcare? Why is it necessary for medicine to take into account the differences between males and females? Why is paying attention to gender an indispensable element in ensuring that scientific and pharmacological research proceeds correctly?
