SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY
• Study of catalytic systems (model systems of metal nanoparticles supported on oxides) using
local probes and spectroscopic techniques and use of this knowledge for the development of
new catalysts for applications in real conditions
• Synthesis and study of low dimensional carbon materials (graphene, nanotubes, modified
graphite) for applications in energy related fields.
• Spectroscopic and microscopic characterisation of complex materials and in particular of
their interfaces and surfaces and study of their chemical and electronic properties
• Author of 160 works on peer reviewed international journals
• h-index 39, >6500 citations (October 2020 by Scopus)
