Housing MUR: 3.423 additional bed spaces in Veneto. PNRR target exceeded
September 2, 2026
There are 3,423 additional bed spaces for university students in Veneto thanks to the Piano Housing of the Ministry of University and Research (MUR), supported by resources from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
Of these, 1,914 have already been completed and are available. To access them, students can contact the regional bodies for the right to study or, according to merit-based criteria, directly the residence managers.
Of these, more than half, namely 1,008 bed spaces, are in the province of Padua, and 70 in the province of Rovigo, 43 in the province of Vicenza; 23. 745 are in the province of Verona and 25 in the province of Venezia.
The additional 1,509 accommodation units will be available in 2027.
"The result achieved in Veneto contributes to a fundamental milestone for the whole country. More accommodation makes our universities more accessible and attractive, while at the same time strengthening the areas that host them," says the Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini. "These bed spaces are a concrete response to the need for accommodation for students living away from home and an investment in every student’s right to choose freely where to pursue their education".
At national level, there are more than 63,200 new bed spaces under the Piano Housing overall, over 3,000 more than the 60,000 target envisaged by the PNRR. Thanks to this increase, the supply of accommodation for university students is now more than double that available when the Plan was launched.
The Housing call for applications provides that at least 30% of the new bed spaces must be reserved for those who are capable and deserving but lack financial means; for the other spaces, rates at least 15% below average market values are предусмотрены.
