The University of Padua team came first in the eighth edition of the Pediatric Simulation Games 2026, the prestigious competition dedicated to simulation in the paediatric field.

In Latina, the gold medal was won by the young resident doctors from the Department of Woman’s and Child’s Health, supported by Fondazione Salus Pueri: Eleonora Calabrò, Elisabetta Cantele, Marco Caputo, Francesca Ciritella, Edoardo Mancin, Davide Nogherot, Salvatore Prete and Camilla Somigli, coached by Valentina Stritoni.
A highly significant result that rewards their preparation, commitment and ability to work together.

In second place was the Spanish team from Hospital Universitari Mútua Terrassa di Barcellona.
They were followed by the University of Napoli Federico II in third place, and the Rome team from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore – Policlinico Gemelli in fourth place.

Four days of intense challenges, teamwork and extraordinary dedication to paediatric emergency care.
There were 40 teams competing, from universities across Italy and from prestigious universities in France, Portugal and Spain. The final day began in the morning with the fifth round of simulations, before continuing in the afternoon with the semi-finals and the grand final.

During the competition, the resident doctors tackled more than thirty critical scenarios: from cardiac arrest to respiratory failure, including pneumonia, upper airway obstruction, septic shock, head trauma and the management of rare diseases in the emergency department.
