The harmony of the Universe. A video celebrates Padua Urbs Picta

On 24 July 2021, the 14th-century Fresco Cycles of Padua were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. 
This anniversary represents an important opportunity to tell, through numerous initiatives, about the people, experiences and stories that have marked this first stretch of the journey.

Among the most significant events, LU5TRO - 5 years of World Heritage, the event that took place last 24 July between the Oratorio di San Michele, the Palazzo della Ragione and the Museo Eremitani. Added to this is a project carried out in synergy with the World Heritage Office of the Municipality of Padova, which involves the production of a number of music videos, included in a broader project to enhance the city’s UNESCO heritage. 
Each video is conceived on the basis of the distinctive characteristics of the place hosting it and documents the composition and performance of an original piece, created specifically to enhance its identity and cultural heritage.

Part of this project is the production of the music video The Harmony of the Universe, recorded by Fabio Framba and directed by Marco Ramin, for which the American composer Randall Stroope devised a choral piece set to a Latin text, inspired by the constellations and the Zodiac, performed in the hall of the Palazzo della Ragione by the Chamber Choir of the Concentus Musicus Patavinus of the University of Padua, conducted by Ignacio Vazzoler.

The musical project was conceived by Marina Malavasi, formerly a lecturer at the Conservatorio "Cesare Pollini" and for many years active as a choir director. The curation of the literary and scientific content, with particular reference to the historical and artistic aspects, was entrusted to Giovanna Baldissin Molli, senior scholar at the University of Padua and curator of the Musei Antoniani.

"The Harmony of the Universe" follows an earlier video made by the Coro di Voci bianche Cesare Pollini entitled "Elegy for a Knight" and filmed at the Oratorio di San Giorgio.

The initiative is promoted by the Associazione Coro di Voci Bianche "Cesare Pollini" and involves the collaboration of the World Heritage Office of the Municipality of Padova, Padova Urbs Picta, the Coro Concentus of the University of Padua and the Department of Cultural Heritage of the University.
