On the afternoon of Tuesday 21 July, the examination for admission to the medical specialisation schools with access reserved for graduates in Medicine and Surgery was held at the HUB di Ingegneria di Padua. The date and procedures of the competition were established by the Ministry of University and Research and are valid throughout the whole of Italy.

The test, which was taken on a computer using an application created by CINECA, consisted of 140 multiple-choice questions; the time available to candidates was 210 minutes

At national level, around 17,500 participants sat the competition: a clear increase compared with last year, when 15,889 people had registered.
In Padua, 925 people sat the test; specifically, 549 female candidates (57%) and 376 male candidates (43%), in line with the data relating to students enrolled in the degree programme in Medicine and Surgery.

The specialisation schools activated and accredited at the University of Padua by the MUR are 48. Those with the highest numbers are: Anaesthesia and intensive care, Paediatrics, Internal medicine, Emergency medicine, Diseases of the cardiovascular system.

The Ministry has not yet determined the number of specialist training contracts allocated to Padua, nor their distribution among the Schools: over the last 3 years, the ministerial allocations for the University of Padua have remained substantially stable: 769 in 2023, 743 in 2024 and 764 in 2025.
