art. 13 EU Regulation 2016/679 - General Data Protection Regulation

This information is provided pursuant to art. 13 of EU Regulation 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation, hereinafter EU Regulation), in relation to the data of students and graduates (including those enrolled in any course or training activity provided by the University and those who have obtained the relevant qualification) and contact persons of institutions and companies of which the University of Padua (hereinafter University), as Data Controller, comes into possession as a result of the provision of the recruiting service for internships and work and job orientation at the University.

The processing of data is based on the principles of correctness, lawfulness, transparency and protection of confidentiality and all the rights of the data subjects, as specified in the following information and in compliance with the provisions of art. 130 of Legislative Decree no. 196 of 30 June 2003 and ss.mm. (Personal Data Protection Code).

The Data Controller is the University of Padua, with registered campus in Via VIII Febbraio n. 2, 35122 - Padua.

At the University there is the Data Protection Officer, appointed pursuant to art. 37 of EU Regulation 2016/679, who can be contacted at the following e-mail address: privacy@unipd.it.

The University processes the data of students and graduates, including those enrolled in any course or training activity provided by the University and those who have obtained the relevant qualification, and of representatives of institutions and companies that the University comes into possession  of in relation to the services offered by the University's Career Service Office.

The data that may be processed exclusively for the purposes indicated in point 4 are the common and contact data of the data subjects.

The data are processed for the following purposes:
- sending communications to students/graduates, institutions/companies for the organization of career days, recruiting events,  employer branding, mentoring and job orientation activities;
- allow interested parties access to the services offered by the University's Career Service Office;
- assistance for the matching of supply and demand for internships and job opportunities;
- stipulation of contracts or agreements or activation of traineeship with interested parties.

Users' data are processed with the support of computer and paper means.

The University takes appropriate organisational and technical measures to protect and ensure the confidentiality of the personal data in its possession, in particular against the loss, theft, as well as the unauthorised use, disclosure or modification of personal data.

The University does not resort to automated decision-making processes relating to the rights of the data subject on the basis of personal data, including profiling, in compliance with the guarantees provided for by art. 22 of the EU Regulation.

The processing of data within the scope of the purposes indicated in point 4 is carried out by the University exclusively on the basis of consent, pursuant to art. 6, par. 1, letter a), of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, which may be revoked at any time, without affecting the processing already carried out.

The provision for the purposes described in point 4 is mandatory and any refusal by the User precludes the provision of the service.

The recipients of the data are natural persons appointed by the University for the processing of data, including employees and collaborators, including independent ones, of the University of Padua and affiliated bodies.

The following are also recipients of the data for the purposes indicated in point 4:
- external  suppliers (public or private entities) of specific services instrumental to the performance of job placement and traineeship activities, appointed as data processors;
- independent owners (public or private entities) who turn to the Career Service Office for the dissemination, by them, of employment opportunities;
- students/graduates to whom the common data of the contact person of the institution/company and their contact details can be sent, to access the opportunities offered or for mentoring activities;
- professionals who play the role of mentors with students/graduates.

The data are stored for the entire period necessary to carry out the purposes set out in point 4, in accordance with the provisions of current legislation, and in any case for as long as the User intends to use the services offered by the Career Service.

The user may exercise at any time the right of access, the right to rectification or integration of their data, the right to erasure (right to be forgotten) and limitation of processing and the right to data portability, under the conditions and within the limits indicated by the EU Regulation.

The user has the right to object at any time to the processing of their data, in accordance with the provisions of art. 21 EU Regulation.

To exercise their rights, the user can contact the University, by writing to the certified e-mail address amministrazione.centrale@pec.unipd.it or to the e-mail address urp@unipd.it. Alternatively, the user can write to: University of Padua, via VIII Febbraio n. 2, Padua.

The University is required to provide a response within one month of the request, extendable up to three months in the event of particular complexity of the request.
