For Saturday 12 September, the Botanical Garden of the University of Padua is offering a guided excursion to discover the origin and structure of the Euganean Hills, retracing more than 150 million years of geological history, led by Luciano Secco, vice-president of the Gruppo Mineralogico e Palentologico Euganeo

The rocks that make up the Euganean Hills will be illustrated, from the ancient sedimentary formations linked to a marine past to the magmatic rocks produced by subsequent cycles of underwater eruptions, to understand how these processes have shaped the landscape we know today.

Following the excursion, participants will visit the exhibition rooms of the Museo di Cava Bomba, discovering its origins and the geological and mineralogical collections it houses.

The coach departs from Padua in the morning and returns in the afternoon.
