For summer 2026, the Cupola Multimediale della Stazione del Pennar is hosting a rich calendar of initiatives dedicated to astronomy, nature, and science communication.

The Polo Astronomico di Asiago presents the summer 2026 program of activities for the public at the Stazione del Pennar, with events designed for adults, families, girls, and boys. From July 11 to September 12, 2026, conferences, observations of the Sun and the sky, workshops, nature treks, and evening visits to the observatory are scheduled.

The calendar opens with “Emotions among the stars”, scheduled on July 11 and August 11 from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and on August 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The initiative offers a nature trek with an evening visit to the observatory and an aperitif. Bookings are managed by Naturalmente Michele at 333 3909203. The cost is 35 euros for adults and 25 euros for young people up to 17 years old.

Among the scientific events, highlights include the conference “Extraterrestrial life”, with Cesare Barbieri, lecturer at the University of Padua, scheduled for July 12 at 9 p.m., and the evening dedicated to the International Space Station on July 17 at 9 p.m., with observation of its passage with the naked eye in case of clear skies.

There is also no shortage of activities dedicated to solar observation. The events “Let’s observe our star!” take place on July 31, August 7, 14, 19, 23, and 28, and September 5 and 12, always at 2 p.m. In case of clear skies, it will be possible to observe sunspots and solar prominences, accompanied by a lesson on the Sun, its evolution, and the history of solar observations.

The program also offers workshops and activities for younger participants. On August 1 and 12 at 4 p.m., there will be “Astrotombola”, an event designed for girls and boys aged 6 to 11, featuring an astronomy-themed bingo game, themed prizes, and the final launch of a small baking soda and vinegar rocket. On August 15, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., it will instead be the turn of “Astrorazzi”, a workshop for girls and boys aged 6 to 14, who will be able to safely build and launch a rocket with a solid-propellant endoreactor, in collaboration with BT Research.

There is also ample space for the combination of nature and astronomy with “Trekking & Astronomy”, scheduled on July 25 and August 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The Osservatorio Astrofisico di Asiago is the finishing point of the trek organized by Guide Altopiano. The observing evenings also include the events “The colors of the stars”, on July 31 at 9 p.m. and August 28 at 8 p.m., “Comets: messengers from the past”, on August 1, 7, and 14 at 9 p.m. and September 5 and 12 at 8 p.m., and “The Moon”, on August 23 at 9 p.m.. When weather conditions allow, remote observation with the Galileo telescope is also planned.

For the events marked as part of the regular program, the ticket costs 12 euros full price, 7 euros reduced, free up to 5 years old, for Unipd and OAPD staff and students. A family ticket at 24 euros is also available. During the events it will be possible to visit the dome of the Galileo telescope, except during maintenance periods. The average duration of the events is about 90 minutes.

Suitable clothing and the use of a headlamp are recommended. For groups of at least 30 people, it is possible to arrange visits at other times and on other dates with the women and men astronomers.
