Tales of nature, between books and research

In September, Racconti della Natura returns, the literary series of the Orto botanico and the Museo della Natura e dell’Uomo that promotes science communication through books. Seven new events, from September to December, explore themes ranging from ecology to botany, from the links between humans and non-humans to mycology, alternating meetings aimed at an adult audience with Racconti della Natura – KIDS events, dedicated to younger children, where the book is presented through workshop activities.
The first is on Tuesday 8 September at 18:00 at the Museo della Natura e dell’Uomo with Ettore Camerlenghi and Il patto con la Terra, a journey among Indigenous communities and different ways of knowing, inhabiting and caring for nature.
The event is an opportunity to seek answers to two essential questions: can there be a new, fairer encounter between Western science and Indigenous sciences? Are we truly ready to go further, to embrace the deepest message that other epistemologies offer us?
The event is free of charge with booking required, takes place in the Auditorium and does not include admission to the Museum.
The programme continues on Saturday 19 September at 15:30 at the Orto botanico with the KIDS Talee di Giovanni Colaneri event, a poetic and powerful story about growth, waiting and care.
