Pages of medicine. A journey through the ancient books of MUSME

On Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 7 to 8 p.m., the MUSME – Museum of the History of Medicine in Padova offers a special event dedicated to its ancient book collection: "Pages of medicine. Journey through the ancient books of MUSME".

The meeting accompanies visitors  to discover volumes, images, anatomical tables and scientific texts that tell some fundamental stages in the history of medicine. Through these precious materials it is possible to retrace the evolution of medical knowledge, from ancient medicine to the birth of modern observation, with particular attention to the central role of Padova in the development of knowledge on the human body.

The guided tour lasts about an hour and takes place at the Museum of the History of Medicine, in via San Francesco 94 in Padova, with meeting at 7 pm.

The cost of the activity includes the entrance ticket to the museum and the guided tour.
The prices are: full ticket € 16.00, reduced over 65 and teachers € 12.00, reduced young people, students € 10.00. For children from 0 to 3 years old, people with disabilities, journalists, tour guides and visitors on their birthday, there is a cost of € 4.00 for the guided tour only.

The activity is activated upon reaching a minimum of 10 participants.

Visits to MUSME are possible throughout the year and are not limited to special events only: the museum can also be visited outside this programming.
