The Padua School of Thoracic Surgery "in memory of the master"

On 10 July, Palazzo del Bo of the University of Padua hosts this ECM-accredited thoracic surgery conference (6 credits), which aims to retrace the main stages in the development of the discipline, highlighting the contribution of the Paduan surgical school and the importance of specialist training in the transmission of clinical and surgical experience.

Thoracic surgery has in fact undergone profound evolution in recent decades, moving from traditional resections to minimally invasive and robotic techniques, thanks to technological progress and the increasingly multidisciplinary approach to the management of thoracic diseases.

Through discussion among experts from different fields, the programme explores the evolution of surgical techniques, the role of technological innovation, and integration with anaesthesia, oncology, pulmonology, and pathology, offering an up-to-date and shared view of contemporary thoracic surgery and its future prospects.

The training initiative is intended for medical doctors specialising in surgery.
