Euganea Film Festival 2026

From 28 August to 6 September Euganea Film Festival celebrates its 25th edition, a milestone that reflects the growth of an event that has established itself as a national point of reference for cinema devoted to themes of the environment, landscape, and the relationship between people and nature.

This edition presents 49 works from 25 countries, including eighteen Italian premieres, meetings with authors, workshops, masterclasses, and special events.

Founded in 2002, the Festival continues to find in the Colli Euganei – recognised since 2024 as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve – its natural and cultural setting, making this territory not only the venue for the event, but also an integral part of its identity. 

The Festival benefits from the collaboration with the Department of Geography of the University of Padua, now a scientific partner in defining the cultural project. From this collaboration comes a programme that complements the screenings with opportunities for dialogue between cinema, scientific research, and public engagement, finding its fullest expression in What if...?.

The best short films produced over the ten-year history of the Landscape Videomaking Laboratory of the Master's Degree Programme in Landscape Science are presented, and reflection is pushed to the boundaries of the relationship between human beings and the environment and between human beings and nature, speaking of wilderness in the city, of uphill journeys for survival, and of different ways of understanding our relationship with the physical reality that surrounds us. Among the headline events is the meeting entitled L’acqua zè morta! with Marco Paolini, together with actress and musician Maria Roveran and director Giovanni Pellegrini, in a shared reflection on the bond between art, water, and territory, in collaboration with the Fabbrica del Mondo.
