The third event in the [ING.tonic] 2026 series, on 17 September, is entitled Who controls chips controls the world: technology, geopolitics and global competition.

The meeting addresses the crucial issue of the inextricable link between strategic resources, technology and international politics.
From the Strait of Hormuz to the race for semiconductors between the USA and China, the meeting compares energy independence and technological autonomy.
Guided by Alessandro Paccagnella, lecturer in the Department of Information Engineering at the University of Padua, the meeting aims to analyse how crises and bottlenecks in international supply chains are directly reflected in the cost of everyday life, from fuel to the technology we use every day, and what room for manoeuvre remains for Italy and Europe.

The next event, But this isn’t where I was supposed to arrive, is scheduled for 15 October.

The event is free of charge, with booking required.
