Autori in Città 2026

Autori in città is the festival dedicated to picture books, editorial illustration and visual storytelling that, from 10 to 13 September 2026, transforms Padua into a large meeting space for those who create picture books, those who love them and those who use them in their work. It is a city-wide festival held in independent bookshops, exhibition spaces, at Teatro Verdi, at the University of Padua, at the Biblioteca Civica, at Cinema Lux, in the gardens and squares of Padua.

On the programme: exhibitions spread throughout the city, book signings, workshops, illustration workshops, portfolio reviews, seminars for teachers and care professionals and, to conclude, the large Fiera dell’Illustrato in Piazza Eremitani.

Autori in città welcome illustration authors and illustrators with different voices, techniques and backgrounds, united by a passion for visual storytelling. During these days in September they are in Padua to inhabit the city’s venues with solo exhibitions, share their creative processes in illustration workshops and portfolio review sessions, and engage in dialogue with professionals, students, teachers and enthusiasts of picture books.

The event is also endorsed by the Alumni association of the University of Padua.
