Alzheimer Fest 2026

Alzheimer Fest puts people with dementia, family members and care workers at the centre. The aim is to overcome the stigma that accompanies neurodegenerative diseases and, more generally, every form of disability. To promote social inclusion, provide information and knowledge, and share experiences, joys and struggles.
The Festival begins on Saturday 12 September from 6 p.m., at Teatro Torresino, with birthday wishes for Alzheimer Fest through a short film created by Flavio Pagano, which also tells of his authorship of the neologism “CuraCari”. This is followed by the performance “L’Ombra di Peter”, which addresses the theme of Alzheimer’s by using the fairy tale of Peter Pan as a metaphor for the bond between a son and his ill mother.
Alzheimer Fest then moves for the whole of Sunday 13 September to Prato della Valle, with a great many events, testimonies from people living with the disease and their family members, and the participation of professionals, artists and voluntary associations: everyone makes themselves available to spread awareness and bring enjoyment to the participants.
On 13 September, in Prato della Valle, near Alzheimer Fest, there will also be the Dì Salute area: the two events, although distinct, have become intertwined in a synergistic way in the belief that prevention and care are fundamental to supporting people who are ill and their CuraCari.
