56th Veneto Festival, closing concert

The 56th Veneto Festival concludes on Sunday 6 September. On this occasion, the Auditorium Pollini di Padua hosts the closing concert of the festival, held on the eighth anniversary of the death of Claudio Scimone, founder of I Solisti Veneti and a leading figure in Italian and international musical life. 
At 21:00, I Solisti Veneti, conducted by Maestro Giuliano Carella, will perform with the participation of horn player Annemarie Federle, invited to perform two masterpieces from the Mozart repertoire for horn and orchestra. 

All proceeds from the concert, organised with the support of Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo, will be entirely donated to the “Sportello Nuovi Passi” project of Fondazione O.I.C. Onlus, a service for caregivers and the families of people with neurocognitive disorders.

Also attending the event are the presidents of the three Foundations: Rosario Rizzuto (Cariparo), Andrea Cavagnis (O.I.C.) and Vittorio Dalle Ore (I Solisti Veneti). The latter will present the “Solista Veneto ad honorem” plaque to the former president of Fondazione Cariparo, Gilberto Muraro, in recognition of the support shown over recent decades for cultural and musical activities in Padua. 

The concert programme offers a journey through some of the most significant figures on the European music scene in the second half of the eighteenth century, bringing into dialogue Franz Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Luigi Boccherini.

Tickets at 3 euros are available for university students.
