About the Arqus European University Alliance

The Arqus University Alliance brings together the universities of Granada, Graz, Leipzig, Lyon 1, Mihno, Padua, Vilnius and Wroclaw, eight comprehensive research universities with extensive experience in joint transnational projects, who share a common profile as highly internationalised institutions with deep local engagement in medium-sized cities. Arqus is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union as part of the European Universities Initiative leading the way towards the universities of the future, promoting European values and identity, and revolutionising the quality and competitiveness of European higher education.
Arqus has been providing countless mobility and exchange opportunities for researchers, professors, administrative staff, and students since 2019. In July 2022, the Alliance secured support from the European Commission to continue implementing its strategy towards a fully-fledged European University.
