Characteristics and objectives
The aim of the course is to provide a solid background on basic science (maths and physics) focusing on general and organic chemistry.
Moreover, new designing, optimization, managing and development methods regarding transformation processes of raw materials are studied. Multidisciplinary and scientific specialization regarding chemical plants, green chemistry, carbon footprint, safety, energy production, biotechnologies and designing of new and innovative materials and processes are offered.

The main career opportunities are in raw materials processing industries, energy production and transformation industries, engineering consulting companies, research centers and materials analysis laboratories, waste processing industries, and all companies in which safety and environmental engineer is needed.
From Bachelor's degree to Master's degree
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and Materials Engineering provides access to graduate course of Chemistry Engineering and Materials Engineering. It provides access to other graduate courses in the industrial and information technology area as well, with rules that will be indicated in the specific admission notices.

Double Degree opportunities
Students enrolled in this Bachelor’s degree program have the opportunity to apply for a double-degree programme in Ingegneria chimica e dei materiali with the Université de Lorraine and the École Européenne d'Ingénieurs en Génie des Matériaux (France). Over the course of the three years, they can obtain a double degree: the Bachelor’s degree in Ingegneria chimica e dei materiali (UNIPD) and the Bachelor’s degree awarded by the partner institution. Participation in the double degree programme entails, as its continuation, a Master’s double degree programme in Materials Engineering with the same partner university.
