He/she has adequate skills in advanced and innovative design in the areas of structures, hydraulics, geotechnics, transport and building construction, as well as the ability to adopt interdisciplinary approaches in solving complex problems.

Occupational opportunities
The degree allows access to the professional fields related to the complex design of civil works and infrastructures, the management of technical and commercial organizations, and the planning and management of territorial systems at different scales.
The graduate in Civil Engineering is able to:
• solve problems, even of high complexity, through the application of advanced methodologies and technologies;
• analyze and solve problems in both consolidated and new and emerging areas of the field, with a broad methodological perspective;
• use analytical, numerical and experimental methods adapted to the complexity of the problems;
• design civil structural typologies in a perspective of optimization of economic, social and environmental impacts;
• adapt to operate in innovative and rapidly evolving contexts;
• adopt a transversal approach that favours the possibilities of interdisciplinary collaboration;
• operate in the awareness of the technical and regulatory, as well as environmental, economic and social implications of his/her activities;
