Nurses are pivotal figures for patient management as they are responsible for the general care for the individual, the community and the community. This course offers a transversal approach that will allow you to understand the fundamental knowledge of the profession along with solidly based preparations in basic and clinical sciences. You will learn to evaluate the levels of functionality and autonomy of patients, formulating objectives and choosing the most suitable care path needed. The practical approach allows you to acquire the technical skills of nursing and the useful skills needed to evaluate the quality of care concerning ethical, deontological, and legal issues. With this course, you can pursue work in both public and private structures or perform home care for patients.

Characteristics and objectives
The Course is aimed at training nursing professionals that are responsible for the general nursing care in the health field. It enables students to learn nursing knowledge and skills of a technical, educational and relational nature, and it teaches how to identify and evaluate both individual and collective care needs. The Course provides basic and clinical science competence, essential to the knowledge of physiological and pathological processes to which the caregiving intervention is intended. Students will be able to assess the level of functionality and independence of patients, set goals and choose nursing care pathways in childhood, adulthood and geriatric age, consistent with the state of health and the independence capability of those who need care. They will be able to adopt diagnostic and therapeutic prescriptions, carry out nursing preventive and care measures, interventions of rehabilitation, palliative and support measures.
The Course enables students to realize educational projects with people and their family in order to develop skills of self-care, support the patients in learning how to self-manage their health problems, train caregivers to manage patient's issues.
Furthermore, it enables to acquire some skills that are useful to assess the quality of nursing care, deal with ethical, deontological and legal issues in the area of health care assistance and develop self-learning skills.

Occupational opportunities
The achievement of the degree qualifies students as licensed nurses, so that they can carry out the nursing profession in public or private health facilities and services, such as hospitals, research institutes, nursing homes or residences for people with disability. They can also carry out their profession providing home care, emergency services and outpatient services as employees or self-employed professionals. The main activities of those who achieved the bachelor's degree are related to the prevention of diseases, the care for sick people and people with disability of any age, the therapeutic education, study, research, education and professional consulting.

From bachelor's degree to master's degree
The Course gives access to lifelong learning post-graduate courses and to short specialization degrees, to the master's degree in Nursing and Midwifery Sciences, according to the specific calls for applications.
