Characteristics and objectives

The Product Innovation Engineer is an industrial engineer capable of studying, modeling, designing, and implementing new products, processes, and industrial plants by leveraging both conventional and innovative materials. the most up-to-date mechanical design techniques—covering static, fatigue, and dynamic analyses, typically supported by computer-aided tools—within a context of competitiveness and industrial sustainability. Particular attention is paid to minimizing costs throughout the entire product lifecycle, achieved through careful product engineering and the concurrent design of the production system.
This professional therefore possesses expertise centered around three key drivers of successful product innovation: advanced materials, cutting-edge design techniques, and modern processes and production systems.
The degree program provides solid foundational knowledge in mathematics, physics, and computer science, along with core competencies in industrial engineering. Specific focus areas include the science of metallic and non-metallic materials, the structural, conceptual, and dynamic design of mechanical systems and machines, manufacturing and plant technologies, production processes and systems, energy systems, and both electrical and fluid machinery.

Occupational opportunities
The professional trained over the three years of the degree program is equipped to carry out highly relevant and in-demand roles in today's job market. These include structural and conceptual product design using both traditional and innovative materials, as well as the design of production processes, manufacturing systems, and mechanical plants.
Graduates may also take part in the planning and supervision of production and manufacturing activities, and in the installation and management of advanced machinery and mechanical systems.
These roles can be performed either as employees or freelancers, and are of particular interest to local industries operating in sectors such as precision mechanics, steel and metallurgy, plastics, mechanical plants, biomedical devices, as well as in the traditionally strong fields of thermal engineering, food, goldsmithing, textiles, leather, and industrial packaging.

From Bachelor's Degree to Master's Degree
The program offers direct access to the Master of Science in Mechanical Innovation for Product Engineering, as well as to other Master's programs in Engineering and Management, Food Industry Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering, in accordance with the admission requirements outlined in the relevant calls for applications.
The curriculum also facilitates access to other Master's degrees in the field of Industrial Engineering, particularly the Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, again subject to the specific admission criteria provided.
