An interdisciplinary course that definition its area of interest in all fields in which communication plays a decisive role, including public and corporate communication as well as advertising from traditional media to the use of new technology. Students will study the theory of communication in all its various aspects, including that of critical areas of the current information society. Students will learn to develop a lively curiosity and active attention to contemporaneity curiosity while acquiring the skills needed to carry out communication activities, writing text, and public relations. Students can pursue careers in both public, private and non-profit bodies under the fields of communication, marketing, advertising, information, and publishing. Job offers may include press officer, a specialist in social and business communication, event organizing as well as copywriting and web content editor.

Characteristics and objectives
This course prepares for professions in which communication plays a critical practical role: from public and business communication to advertising, from communications theory to critical areas in the Information Society.
Students will gain basic competences, including those regarding technologies of communication, and specific abilities in different sectors; they will also learn to carry out professional tasks in the media, in public administration, in the cultural industry, in the corporate world and in the service and consumer sector. Students will also learn the necessary skills to carry out communication activities and any other activities involving communication with the public in private companies, public bodies and not-for-profit organisations. They will also develop the necessary skills to analyse and interpret data, write texts for different media sectors and in public and private bodies.

Occupational opportunities
Our graduates can work especially in communication and marketing areas, advertising and information and in the publishing sector. Occupations include marketing and communication specialists, working in press and public relations office; social and business communication, event organizers, copywriters, web content editors.

From Bachelor's degree to Master's degree
