Characteristics and objectives
The single-cycle Veterinary Medicine degree course proposes a high-quality training to the students, in order to give them all the theoretical and practical skills (resulting also from the training activity). The aim is to reach the 'day one skills' to work also in an independent way as veterinarians dedicated to animal health care; to promote animal health and welfare and, consequently, to ensure public health; to ensure food quality and safety. Veterinary Medicine of the University of Padova was accredited by EAEVE (European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education) in 2020 and this evaluation proves the high standard quality of the didactics offer. The course allows course of study and research prosecution at post lauream formation level (Ph.D., Specialization Schools, Master, High formation courses, etc.).

Occupational opportunities
Veterinary Medicine trained professional figure will be able to perform a freelance activity, work in the National Sanitary Service; in the armed forces, in public and private industry, in National and International institutions and Research bodies. From the academic year 2023-24, at the University of Padua, the degree in veterinary medicine qualifies to the profession of veterinary surgeon.
