Associate Professor of Medical Statistics at Department of Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Sciences and Public Health of the University of Padova. Director of the Master in Health Care Research and Pharmacoepidemiology, from Nov 2018.

Her research interests include exploiting the use of administrative data for generating evidence in the fields of pharmacoepidemiology, social and environmental epidemiology. She set up a large population-based birth cohort mainly focused on risk factors and follow-up of children affected by coeliac disease, asthma and other autoimmune conditions. Other research is related to the investigation of cardio-respiratory effects of ambient air pollution.
She is actually working on a cross-sectional epidemiological study on the association between internal dose of PFAS and anthropometric and bio-humoral parameters in the exposed Veneto population founded by CORIS (Veneto Region), December 2018-December 2020 (135,000 euros). The objectives of this study are to evaluate if there is a relationship between the serum concentrations of PFAS and markers of cardiovascular, metabolic and endocrine function assessed within the health surveillance plan, taking into account possible anthropometric, socio-demographic and lifestyle confounders for such relationships. The project focuses on determining the shape of any identified relationships and, if possible, the PFAS threshold concentration below or above which no effect is detectable.
