Simone Carmignato – Full Professor of Manufacturing Technologies, University of Padova.
Graduated with highest honours (110/110 cum laude) in Mechanical Engineering from Padova, he obtained his PhD in Industrial Engineering in joint supervision with the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). He conducted studies and research at international institutions, including Boston University and the German National Metrology Institute (PTB), and served as a visiting professor at DTU.
Responsible for teaching assignments in Production Technologies, Additive Manufacturing, Quality and Metrology in Manufacturing. Supervisor of Master's and PhD candidates in Engineering. Advisory board member of the University of Padova Language Centre.
Coordinator of research projects and industrial collaborations, with a primary focus on precision engineering, advanced and sustainable manufacturing, dimensional metrology and computed tomography.
Author of books, patents and over 300 international scientific publications. Chair, organiser, scientific committee member and keynote speaker for national and international conferences. Editorial board member of international scientific journals.
Affiliated with: International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP Fellow), European Society for Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology (EUSPEN), International Measurement Confederation (IMEKO), International Organization for Standardization (ISO/TC 213/WG 10), Italian Association of Manufacturing Technologies (AITEM).
