Rachele Bertolini graduated cum laude in Materials Engineering at University of Padova in December 2014. She got the PhD degree in Manufacturing Engineering, with the thesis “Innovative machining strategies to manufacture biomedical prostheses for improved in-life functional performances”. From 2020 to 2021 she was research fellow in Manufacturing Technologies at University of Padova. From February 1st, 2021 to December 2022 she is Researcher at the University of Padova. Currently, she is assistant professor at University of Padua.

Educational activity
Teaching activity deals with courses of fundamentals of Manufacturing Technologies, Technologies and Processing Systems for Aerospace Materials and Manufacturing of Biomedical Components at University of Padova.

Main Research Topics
Her scientific activity deals with the following subjects:
- The impact of the surface integrity induced by machining on the in service life perfomences of components of biomedicla interest
- Surface functionalization of metallic materials through machining processes
- Machinability of AM metals
- Evaluation of the mechanical behaviour and formability of metallic materials
- Machinability of composite materials
- Machinability of polymeric materials


Membership and Appointment
She is research affiliate of CIRP (The International Academy for Production Engineering) and senior associate of AITeM (Italian Association for Manufacturing Technology).
She is the Journal of the International Societies for Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology Associate Editor.
