Andrea Zambon is a Mechanical Engineer and holds a PhD in Metallurgical Engineering.
Associate Professor of Metallurgy at the University of Padua, Technology of Metallic Materials for the master's degree course in Materials Engineering and the Joining Processes course for the three-year degree course in Mechanical Engineering.
He is a member of the Technical Committee of the Physical Metallurgy and Materials Science Center of the Italian Metallurgy Association.
In 2014 the competent national evaluation commission awarded him the National Scientific Qualification for the position of University Professor of the first level valid for the competitive sector 09 / A3 - INDUSTRIAL DESIGN, MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTIONS AND METALLURGY
He has published over 100 memoirs on:
1. Development of mathematical models for the analysis and prediction of thermal fields in welding and laser treatment processes of metallic materials.
2. Application of unconventional techniques (plasma torches, lasers, hypersonic spraying) in the production of coatings and in the modification of surfaces for wear resistance.
3. Methods of mechanical characterization and study of behavior in tribological tests of metal matrix composites.
4. Powder metallurgy: processes for the production of powders by gas atomization, analysis of the thermal regimes upon cooling, production of semi-finished products by spray-forming and sintering. Microstructural and mechanical characterization of spray-formed and sintered products.
5. Microstructural and mechanical properties effects of severe plastic deformation.
