Serena Varotto is associate professor in Crop Genetics and Breeding at the Dept of Agronomy Animal, Food Natural Resources and Environment, University of Padua (Italy). Her research work is mainly focused on the following topics:
i) Genetics and epigenetics of maize development and response to environmental challenges.
ii) Genetics and epigenetics of bud dormancy in peach.
iii) To exploit the RNA-interference (RNAi) mechanism for targeting of essential pest/weed genes.
