RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
As part of her university career, she took part in several archaeological excavations and survey activities in Italy and abroad (Aquileia, Altinum, Padova, Nora, Pompeii, Kos, Virunum, Tautavel).

2022: Field director in the excavation of the Roman site of San Basilio in Ariano nel Polesine.
2017 : Field director in the excavation of the Roman theatre of Padova.
2004 onward: Member of the Archaeological Mission at Nora in Sardinia, where at present she is in charge of the study of the building materials and techniques employed in the urban area.
2009-2015: Field director in the excavation of the domus of Tito Macro in Aquileia (Udine).
2007-2009: Field director in the excavation of the Roman rural settlement of Ca’ Tron (Altino, Venezia).

RESEARCH TOPICS
Her research focuses on Classical Archaeology and Architecture, with a particular attention topics such as the history of ancient settlements and monumental complexes, the building materials, the relationships between ancient cities and environmental resources, the construction processes, the building techniques, considered by a historical and economical point of view.
At present she is involved in research and studies concerning Northern Italy, Sardinia and Pompeii.

PUBLICATIONS
Until now, she has published 2 monographs and 40 papers (articles in academic journals, contributions in volumes and conferences’ proceedings) about Roman architecture, building materials and techniques and ancient quarries, as well as about the archaeological excavations and the research projects she took part in at Aquileia, Nora, Pompeii and Padova.

2008 onward – Participation as a speaker to circa 30 scientific conferences dedicated to Classical Archaeology and Roman Architecture
2016 – Member of the organizing and scientific Commitee of the International Conference “Alle origini del laterizio romano. Nascita e diffusione del mattone cotto nel Mediterraneo tra IV e I sec. a.C.” (Padova, 26-28/04/2016)
