Full Professor, I graduated in Padua and then became a researcher in Bologna; I was associate Professor at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and since 1st February 2016 I’m in back in my Alma Mater. A modernist by training (and vocation), at present I’m concerned with contemporary Russian literature: from the genesis of postmodernism to the production process of mass literature. Over the years, I have participated in many national and international congresses (sometimes organizing them) and I have prepared and taken part in national and international projects and research schemes. I am on the editorial board of the journal “Studi slavistici” (http://www.fupress.com/RIVISTE/studi-slavistici/17) official organ of the Italian Association of Slavists.
Research
Specialized in Contemporary Studies, I’ve focused my research on Russian culture and literature of the 20th-21st centuries. I’m interested in the peculiar changes which global cultural movements undergo while assimilated by Russian culture; moving along an axe from modernism to post-modernism and working with different literary genres – from the so-called “high” literature to the “pulp fiction” (detective stories, romance novels, fantasy) – I’m trying to single out specifically Russian “local” characteristics which distinguish Russian literature in the world cultural background.
