Born 2nd of June 1972 in Montebelluna (Treviso), Italy.

Education:
Degree in Medicine in 1997 at the University of Padova, graduated summa cum laude, with a thesis entitled: "Skin cancer in Organ Transplant Recipients”.
Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Biophysics in 2006 at the University of Padua, with a thesis entitled “Photodynamic therapy in dermatology: State of the art and new perspectives".
He conducted research also at the Regional Centre for Melanoma at Istituto Oncologico Veneto (IOV) in Italy.

Research:
His research is mainly based on psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, organ transplant recipients, photodynamic therapy and skin cancer.
In particular, he focused on comorbidities of psoriasis, and specifically the relationship between inflammation and coronary macro- and microvascular dysfunction or liver damage.
He recently unravelled the complex association between psoriasis-related inflammation and microvascular dysfunction within the myocardial tissue.
He has built up a wide portfolio of publications in several international scientific journals, including Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Circulation, Transplantation, British Journal of Dermatology, Acta Dermato-Venerologica, European Journal of Dermatology and Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology.
He has adequate knowledge of the FDA and EMEA regulations related to Good Clinical Practice and Clinical Trial, and have participated in more than 15 clinical trials to date, mostly as a Principal Investigator.
He was member of the steering committee of several International Clinical Trials.
He was responsible for several Investigator’s Initiated clinical trials, some of which were supported by International Pharmaceutical Companies.
