Psychophysiological correlates (HRV, EEG, ERPs, Startle) of unpleasant affective dispositions, including the flight, fight, freezing or fainting response (e.g. vaso-vagal syncope, blood-phobia). Psychophysiological correlates (HRV, EEG, ERPs, Startle) of stress responses in psychopathology (anxiety and depression) and medical conditions (e.g. cardiovascular disorders, pain).
Self-regulation in stress, anxiety, depression and emotional altered regulation.

The feasibility of any possible thesis proposal can be assessed, through confrontation during the student hour, on the basis of the specific knowledge and skills (methodological, psychophysiological, psychopathological) gained by the student in the three-year or master's degree courses.
Thesis topics are indeed related to such knowledge:
- The interaction between psychological (e.g. cognitive, behavioral, emotional) and physiological (e.g. Heart Rate Variability, Startle, EEG and Event Related Potentials) measures in depression, anxiety and stress disorders;
- Interactions in the central-autonomic network and psychophysiological self-regulation;
- Psychobiological factors associated with cardiovascular diseases and pain disorders.
