My research interests are in the fields of developmental cognitive neuroscience and neuropsychology. My main research topic is the investigation of the cognitive mechanisms underlying cognitive control in an evolutionary perspective of typical and atypical development.

In particular, I am interested in understanding how the ability to generate, implement and update internal predictive models based on implicit mechanisms (associative learning, statistical learning, etc.) interacts with mechanisms traditionally considered top-down (inhibitory control, cognitive flexibility, working memory).

My research activity includes both typically developing populations (pre-schoolers, schoolchildren and adolescents) and atypically developing populations (ADHD, autism, DSA, neurological disorders) in a trans-diagnostic perspective.

My methodological expertise concerns neuropsychological and neurophysiological evaluation through peripheral (skin conductance, eye-movement, heartbeat) and central (hdEEG) indices.
