Teaching activity 1. 2007- in progress: Title “Farm animal production techniques” at the three-year course in Food Safety and Hygiene, at Padova University
2. 2015 - in progress: Title “ Practical training on wildlife management” at the five-year course in Veterinary medicine, at Padova University.
3. 2019 - in progress. Title “Wild animal husbandry, management and welfare” at the three-year course in Animal Care, at Padova University
Main research topics 4. Dairy cattle
The research activity concerning the breeding of dairy cows concernes different aspects, such as feeding efficiency, productive performance, milk quality, and animal health. With regard to nutrition, we are focusing on the use of additives and of control techniques to check TMR's physical structure to improve rumen health, feed efficiency and animal performance.
5. Precision livestock farming
We are also focusing on precision livestock farming and precision feeding on both dairy cow and beef cattle, through the application of new technologies and the study of animal behavior to optimize their wellfare, production and health. With regard to precision feeding, our main focus is on the study of maize silage quality.
