EDUCATION ATTAINMENT

• 1996, M.S. Degree in Forestry Sciences, in “Environmental management and soil conservation”, from the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Padova.
• From 30 October 1997 to 30 October 1998, research activity on the effects of intraspecific competition on the alfalfa crop, at the Department of Agronomy – College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources – University of Missouri Columbia, MU - USA.
• From 1 April 1999 to 31 March 2001, a research fellow on the techniques of establishment and management of turfgrasses, at the Department of Environmental Agronomy and Plant Production of the University of Padova.
• 2003, Ph.D. in Environmental Agronomy, with a thesis entitled: Tecnologie di impianto e tecniche di gestione per tappeti erbosi ad elevata intensità di utilizzazione [Planting and management techniques for high-intensity turfgrasses].
• 2007, university researcher position at the Department of Agronomy, Food, Natural Resources, and Environment of the University of Padova.
• 2017, associate professor position at the Department of Agronomy, Food, Natural Resources, Animals, and Environment of the University of Padova.

RESEARCH AREAS
• Turfgrass: particular attention has been paid to the choice of species and cultivars to use for the formation of turfgrasses in transition zones on the basis of their morphological characteristics, environmental adaptability, and wear tolerance.
Research in the field of turfgrass which had also regarded issues inherent germination and establishment in relation to temperature and drought stress tolerance of cool-season species.
• Forage crops: prevalently the study of alfalfa, investigating the effects produced by cutting (frequency and timing) and fertilization on dry matter production, forage quality, and crop persistence. Particular attention has been paid to offshoot capacity of regrowth after mowing and reserves sugar accumulation.
• Grasslands: evolution of quanti-qualitative characteristics of the production of pastures and meadows in relation to their management, the sustainable management of grasslands with particular attention to the conservation of plant biodiversity in abandoned pastures and meadows.

TEACHING ACTIVITY
Turfgrass management and revegetation
Forage crops
Botany of crop plants
